Bio

Pep Manresa (Llucmajor – Mallorca, September 1975).

Since his childhood he perceives the pictorial passion of his father (painter) and already feels a great attraction for drawing and painting, giving him some prizes in primary school.

During his childhood, he delves into the pictorial world, essentially declining for the landscape and later, between 1998 and 2007, he practices a post-impressionism strongly influenced by his father’s painting. The dark chromatic palette together with the predominant shades of blue and green transmit a sensitive melancholy.

During this same period he also began to represent in his work a whole series of social feelings, such as loneliness, sensitivity and love, where one can perceive the admiration of the Picasso blue period.

At the end of 2007 he took a significant turn, the result of an introspective analysis and became concerned with the study of the creation of nature, both in terms of its composition and decomposition. This concern will be increasingly reflected in his work, focusing on the search for primary forms; on the material origin of nature.

However, the fundamental pillar that distinguishes his work is the timeless emotional representation of the human being, through the expression of faces, blurred silhouettes and essentially feminine figures, which highlight his concern for the congenital states of being.

One of the most notable symbolisms throughout his work is the special representation of the maternal-child relationship between a mother and child.

Throughout his professional career, he has participated in numerous contemporary art exhibitions and fairs, many of them international, in European cities as well as in Miami and New York.
